Hong Kong

After arrived here for 1 day. I don't feel like I am really in Hong Kong yet. So on my second day I went to the area called Tsim Sha Tsui. There are really a lot of shops for especially brand name cloth. I took a ferry and walked around Tsim Sha Tsui area for about 2 hours.. visited Harbour city, Park lane (Nathan road), peking road and tried fried meat ball there. It is different than meat ball we have in Thailand. They fried it with kind of turmeric I guessed.

The thing I like about Hong Kong is transportation and octopus card. They got tram, ferry, MTR, bus... you can go every where easily and you can pay the fair by the octopus card. but still you need to walk a lot.
During my staying here I wish to visit Mongkok, The peak, Avenue of the star, Repulse bay and then looking forward to go back to Thailand.

Furkie VS Cobra

My poor Furkie never thought that he could die fighting with Cobra.
Last week, there was also a snake that Furkie and Linnie tried to kill but my mom were there at Krathumbean house so the snake didn't survive.
This time, P'Noot and My mom went back home early and found that Furkie lied down on the floor not moving. After all confusion they found out that he died because of cobra. Because the Cobra's dead body was there too. I feel surprised when P'Noot called and told me the story.
He was a nice dog.. funny.. and brave.. when I played with him his eyes show me the happiness.... I guessed Linnie must be sad too...losting her friend in a battle with cobra like this...

Brick by brick my citizen…

To much effort to mow the lawn. We decided to take out the lawn and change to the special kind of grass that cannot be found from anywhere else but my mom’s home. Since my grand pa’s time, he took this kind of grass from somewhere (no one can tell). Its specialty is no cutting required! How nice!! But I need to wait patiently

Packing time..

It is always better to leave when you've been wasted so much time somewhere. It seems to be out of control but it is actully what I really wish for.

So now I am packing and ready to go back to Thailand. One big lugguage, one smaller, two hand bags and one laptop. They are all quite heavy. I don't want to imagine carrying these luggages from 4th floor of the apartment and hope the weight will not exceed the airline's weight limit.

From all the terrible things I experienced in this trip..(small and old apartment, too much of idle time at work and too short period of time informed before we have to leave.) I also found at least a couple of good things..

* Opportunity of English practice
* Traveling and having new friends
* And may be ..Flying.. Thai airways express (non-stop) for 16 hours

..That's all..

Coup

“Coup is happening now in Thailand!” I couldn't believe this!. It was just happening now at 11:00 (NY time) on Sept 19,2006.
According to BBC breaking news, It says "Thailand Prime minister announced emergency state in Thailand". Then a lot of my friends in Thailand going online via MSN and informed us more that the situation was not clear. They also didn’t really know what's happening. All TV broadcast were shut and showing Royal family pictures instead.

BBC is really good. They were fast and keep updating all the time. So I continued on checking the situations on their Website...So far the takeover has been so peaceful that they published picture with discription: "Locals took turns to pose for photographs in front of the tanks, which were decorated with flowers." : O

Potluck

Last Sunday (Sept 17, 2006), Rin had come up with the idea of Khom-pung-na-moo (piggy face bread) and also klowy-bod-she (Banana nun) as an appetizer and dessert for that night dinner.

Samantha did the main course called Shepherd pie which was really nice with layers of potato, tomato and minced lamp. Khom-pung-na-moo was also good. We just burned a few of them. Rin was experimenting also on the new way to make dipping. That was amazing. Now I am staring to enjoy drinking wine with meal. I think when we go back to Thailand, we will have it more.

Statue of Liberty

Please don't tell me this place is one of the most visited places in America, Statue of Liberty.

Visiting lower Manhatton on Sunday Sep 10,06, we started walking from Federal hall and New York Stock Exchange, visited Battery park then walked along the path with quite a nice view of the sea and Liberty Statue. We also took Staten Island ferry. It was just OK..a little bit disappointed actually.

The Tram..

We didn’t have any special plans for the passed long weekend (labor day). The apartment we are staying is located near Queenboro bridge. So we decided to take the tram across the East river (as it was just re-opened after 4 months maintenance). The view up there was nice. But once we got into Roosevelt Island, we didn't find anything interesting..not at all. It is just a small island you can walk all around the island.
